In Thursday's photography session when I went out around the college premises to shoot 'colour', I found the project to be a bit of an adventure. I was able to go around the college by myself and find objects that contained colour, and because this was the hardest topic (as there wasn't much colour) I was able to collect a variety of photographs as I covered a lot of ground on my own. The more areas you visit, the more images you begin to collect. Lots of colour was found inside of certain buildings aswell, not just outside. The difficult part of shooting colour is that your options are very limited on the college grounds because most of it is brick work, which is brown. Every time I stumbled across something colourful I most certainly didn't let it slip. My favourite photograph from Thursday's session was the one below.

The reason as to why I believe this was one of my best photos is because there is a large assortment of colours in this photograph. It's a picture of wires, which I found behind a skip (not very attractive, but a good place for photographs). It was the most colourful photo that I took and it also fills the whole frame, so visually it just looks like a tangled mess of bright squiggles. The wires being a range of colours means that this picture looks a lot more appealing than it would do if it were to consist of just a couple of different colours.

I also had another photograph of mine that I really liked the look of.

This is the 'O' found on the post titled 'O-Zone' in college. In my opinion, the circle of colours aren't so bright that they hurt your eyes looking at the image for too long. The colours are subtle and calm, and they work really well together. The white stands out the most on the deep pink background which spreads a fresh feel across the whole photograph. The colour within the image stands out and looks fun. 

Progression

Seen as though colour is one of my most favourite topics when it comes to creativity, it is a topic that I would most likely decide to develop if I had the chance. I believe colour has the ability to bring something to life. Therefore, if I were to shoot for colour again, I would try and be imaginative and perhaps use the image of the female in my definition post with the mixture of colours around her eyes as inspiration, as that brought her eyes to life. So I'd link my idea of 'colour bringing something to life' with my photographs of facial features being brought to life, through colour. I may also take some black and white pictures that include a focal point of colour like the image I included in my image bank. I suspect I would come up with many ideas along the way that would thoroughly cover the topic 'colour'. A few images that inspire me for this project are beneath.

I found this piece of photography extremely inspiring. When it comes to make up, there is an endless list of possible designs you could create on a face, whether that be with make up for the eyes or make up for the lips, in this case it's make up for the eyes. The colours create a visually strong attractive feel, absorbing the audiences attention and causing them to study each material that's been painted around the females eyes. A mixture of colours have been arranged in an irregular order as not everything is precise and tidy, so the photograph looks very original and quite loud in a positive style. The woman in the photograph may be generating a blank expression, but her eyes are what's screaming out of this image and this is what the photographer was focusing on. 

When people think about colour, most forget to think about images like the one above that contains only a few alike colours. A photograph doesn't have to be overloaded with an assortment of colours to be classed as 'colour photography'. This one of the tree with autumn leaves creates a warm impression, as autumn is the season where the sun's still shining through crispy air. The yellows, organges and reds all come in a mixture of shades which gives the photo depth and directs it away from the plain side. The tree covers the whole of the photograph, and creates the impression that this tree is much larger than what's being advertised. I also like how the tree trunk and branches are almost silhouette, which also means the photo can then create an illusion of a broken orangey pavement; the trunk and brances being the cracks. A clever piece of photography indeed. 

Not only did the colours in this photo stand out, but the concept of it did aswell. It isn't just colour that attracts you to a photograph and this is a perfect example of that. The blue and green tones are fresh colours, which make you think of the ocean/sea/rivers. This photograph contains these colours bouncing out of water, which is stereotypically where they come from. The individual droplets cover more territory in this photograph which avoids leaving blank areas so the space has been used productively.  

This photograph is a pure example of colour. It's a stretched corridor painted orange from nearly floor to ceiling. The only other colour obstructing this image from being fully orange are the black poles in the rectangular holes covering the whole hallway. The black poles however create characteristic so they are a good touch. This is the type of photo that could inspire some of my photographs, because the corridoor is a smart area to take a photo of. The door at the end of the hallway is a darker orange than the walls, floor and ceiling surrounding it, so it almost looks as though it's emerging from the distance. 

My definition of 'colour': A brightly fulfilled element as a result of reflection creating an attractive concept.

Colour has, and most probably always will be my most favourite thing when it comes to something creative. When it comes to colour I believe that it can make an image so captivating and eyecatching that it evolves a dark, dull photograph into a bright, fun and pleasant piece of photography. The six images that I have presented below are filled to the brim with colour; making sweets look yummier and scenery extra beautiful.

I find it creative how this photograph has been taken in a way that we, as the audience, are looking down some kind of wall, with blurred lights infront of us and clear defined lights in the background. 

With this photograph, not everything is screaming with colour. The image focuses on the colours of paint running off of the brushes and dancing around eachother in the water. It creates a focal point; so the audience are aware of what it is they're specifcally supposed to be focusing on when looking at this photograph.

I like how this photograph has been taken looking down at a crowd of straws so that we can see them from all kinds of different angles. It portrays a range of perspectives which is artistic as well as photographic.

Again, this image is one that's creating a focal point. There is a photograph in a photograph which is a creative idea and something that will catch somebody's attention.
