Four annotated online pictures:

I love this photograph. It's quite humorous along with also being creative. These are the shadows of camels, with tourists/riders on their humps. Obviously in real life camels don't have legs as long as this. The light from the sun has beamed down on them and produced an incredibly over exaggerated shadow. Even so, it's mainly the shadow that brings out the form behind this image. 2D camels would never produce a shadow so intense, mainly because they don't even exist. Therefore, it is evident that these camels are 3D, displaying their form through a photograph.

There are more ways than one in this photograph that demonstrate form. Firstly, we all know that a fruit is 3D; this kiwi for example. However, using shadows in a picture to enhance the theme 'form' creates a larger effect on the audience when looking at this photograph, so looking at a picture of a kiwi with a shadow is a lot more effective than looking at a kiwi being held in your hand. The different shades of colour on the kiwi are also what contributes to it's form standing out. The fur is a lot darker with hardly any light being refelected from it, whereas the flesh of the fruit that's linked with the core is a much brighter shade of green, portraying how this kiwi includes curves; 3D.

The shades in this photograph are crazy. Each and every wotsit piled up together all contain a shade different from the rest. This is because not every wotsit has the same amount of light being shone on it. Some are in darker parts of the picture, whilst others are covered in mainly light. These shade assortments are what emphasises the 3-Dimensional nature of food products. The apple is also experiencing the same shade and light situation. Around the top curve of the fruit it's a lot lighter than the part that starts creeping around the back. The colour differences bring out the form in the objects creating this photograph.

This photograph is one that I included in my 'work diary' that inspires me for if I were to take any future photographs to cover 'form' myself. I really like this one, because the colours are an addition to why this picture stands out. In the photograph you can't see the whole bodies of the people included in it, only their shadows. This is effective because you don't actually need to see their real life frames, as you can see their shadows that portray their realistic figures. This photograph also comes across as us not being able to see them, but being able to see them at the same time. It's complex in a positive style.

My definition of form: The structure of a 3D object which is portrayed through colour varieties/shades and shadows.
