Work Diary - Walk 2

Evaluation

Walk 2 was my favourite walk out of the two. Although we walked the same way as we did in the first one, I made sure that the pictures I captured weren't repeated. I experimented with different angles and took pictures of things rather than just leaves e.g. I'd take a picture of feet with leaves etc. I also took more photographs for the topic journey and was very happy with how some of them came out. I like the ones where you take a picture into the distance for example, a long wide path with noone walking down it; just an insolated piece of pavement. They're intriguing and create a sense of mystery which is what I like.

This was my favourite picture from walk 2. I love outfits and colour matching and with this one I feel that the colours are associated with Autumn and therefore portray the topic 'autumn colours' effectively. Khaki green, plum and baby brown are all colours that scream autumn, likewise with lemon yellow, baby blue and lime green being associated with summer; each season links with certain shades. I also feel that the autumn leaves beneath my feet cover the topic 'autumn colours' also because they are all brown and dark green tones.

This was a photograph I took to cover the topic 'journey'. It is evident that I am walking down the steps from where my feet are positioned and how one leg is bent to portray the sense of movement. This was a mid action shot that I capture on walk 2 so rather than me just standing on some steps, I'm actually travelling down them which indicates my journey. My plum leggings also give off a nice pop of colour against the dark brown and in general, dark shades of the stairs.

Progression

Taking into account what I wrote for my progression in walk 1 I feel that I improved a lot of things during this walk and I was much more happier with it. I didn't just stick to taking the same photos as last time, I actually experimented with different compositions. I believe this reflected in my pictures because I tried out different things such as outfit pictures and mid action pictures as I've demonstrated above. The only thing that I'd continue to improve would be the places I visit. There's so many autumn colours and journey pictures that can be capture across the whole world. So every chance I get I may take a picture to cover that certain topic for example, if I'm outside and spot some autumn colours then I'll take a photo. I'll continue doing this until I've collected a decent assortment of improved photographs; this is how I intend to progress.
